Adopt a Spots

The Adopt A Spots were initiated by the Leadership Houston County and the Three Star Program in 2005, but are planted and maintained by individuals or local business. If you are interested in creating an Adopt A Spot on the Walking Trail, by your Business or Church, please contact Kay French 931-289-3858

Erin Elementary would like to thank the volunteers who helped make our flowerbeds bloom! Sherry Paffrath of Serendipity Landscapes provided the muscle and materials to clean up the beds by the circular dirve and constructed a new flowerbed at the front entrance.  Mrs. Elain Hewitt worked vigorously on the front flagpole flowerbed. Meredith & Lexie Baggett and Judy & Brooke Woods pepped up a flowerbed in our Outdoor Classroom. Billy, Dee, and Bayleigh Hughes beautified an Outdoor Classroom flowerbed in memory of Ali Hughes.  Lisa and Rebekah Finley and family perfected the beds behind the fourth and fifth grade classrooms. Our Outside Beautification members tackled the rest.  Thank you so much for adopting a spot.

McKinnon FCE

Mckinnon FCE Club

McKinnon FCE Club has created an Adopt a spot at Tennessee Ridge. The residents there have certainly enjoyed this new addition to their facility. They have enjoyed helping weed and water the plants during the hot summer months.

Jean's Trash Service

Jean's Trash Service

Jean Tolley of Jean's Trash Service has two colorful Adopt a Spots at the entrance of the County's Landfill on Firetower Road.  They are blooming and showing color even in the dry and hot conditions we are having this summer.

Adopt a Spot under the Trinity Hosptial sign on Main Street, Erin is maintained by the Erin Cumberland Presbyterian Church.  They have been working hard in this heat and dry time to keep the flowers fresh and blooming.  It is lovely spot to be seen on one of our County's main roads.

Sarah & Cassie Dew

Sarah & Cassie Dew

Mrs. Sarah Dew and her granddaughter Cassie have chosen to Adopt A Spot and make a portion of our fair city of Erin fresh, bright and charming for everyone to enjoy. They have been busy cleaning up their area and preparing a planting bed that will soon be brimming over with flowers and greenery. The spot they chose is located on the Walking Trail on Front Street close to Tank Hill. We thank them for the time and energy they have taken to help improve the area. It is a great volunteer effort they have put forth.

Houston Co Chamber Adopt A Spot

The Houston County Area Chamber of Commerce has replanted their Adopt A Spot with Spring foliage.  The Chamber's Spot is located at the corner of Spring Street and Front Street in front of the Chamber of Commerce office building. The City of Erin has placed a Resting Bench under the tree that grows near the newly planted spot. These two locations, thanks to the efforts of the Dews and the Chamber will enhance our city and be enjoyed by all that take advantage of the beautiful Betsy Ligon Park and adjoining Walking Trail.  Special thanks to Erin City Mayor Cecil Baggett for helping to maintain the Chamber's spot.
