The Houston County Area Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring the second annual King Puck Contest.
When: Friday, September 15
4:00: Veterinarian Check In at Tent – Certificate of veterinary inspections are required for all goats.
5:00 – 5:45: Registration – Goats must be vet check and registered before 5:45.
6:00: Parade to the state – Goats must be at the stage area by 5:45.
Winner receives the title of “King Puck” with a ribbon and may be asked to represent Houston County Fair at various events during the year including the Irish Celebration Parade in March.
Judging will be on beauty/handsomeness, accessories, personality/mannerisms, and audience response.
The Goat has to be a Buck
The Tennessee Health Requirements apply to all goats (Vet Check in).
Sportsmanship and manners are required of all contestants and their owner. Unruly animals may be excused from the contest by the Judges
Goats should be on the grounds one hour before the contest time and ready at the stage area at 5:45.
Trucks and trailers shall park in designated areas after unloading.
At registration each participant will be required to fill out a funny information card about their goat.
Accessories are encouraged such as, but not limited to, hats, ties etc.
Audience response will be like a “Town Meeting” the goat will parade in front of the audience and the judges will rate their response.
